O <\/a>Tribunal Regional Eleitoral de Minas Gerais (TRE-MG) manteve, por unanimidade (6×0), a cassa\u00e7\u00e3o dos mandatos do prefeito de Martins Soares, Paulo S\u00e9rgio Pereira (Serginho Jord\u00e3o), e do vice-prefeito Alexsandro Franco de Andrade, eleitos em 2024. A decis\u00e3o, proferida nesta quarta-feira (9\/7), confirma a senten\u00e7a da Justi\u00e7a Eleitoral de Manhumirim, que apontou abuso de poder pol\u00edtico e econ\u00f4mico, capta\u00e7\u00e3o il\u00edcita de votos e conduta vedada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Segundo o relator, desembargador Miguel \u00c2ngelo de Alvarenga Lopes, houve uso indevido de recursos p\u00fablicos, com aumento de quase 400% nos gastos com benef\u00edcios sociais sem justificativa plaus\u00edvel. Os laudos sociais utilizados apresentavam falhas t\u00e9cnicas e aus\u00eancia de crit\u00e9rios legais, caracterizando viola\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e0 Lei das Elei\u00e7\u00f5es.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

O juiz Carlos Donizetti, que acompanhou o relator, afirmou que \u201cficou extremamente comprovado o abuso de poder\u201d, enquanto o desembargador Carlos Henrique Braga destacou o uso eleitoreiro de benef\u00edcios sociais com laudos padronizados para mascarar irregularidades. Ele ainda lembrou que o prefeito exercia coordena\u00e7\u00e3o direta na campanha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Com a confirma\u00e7\u00e3o da cassa\u00e7\u00e3o, a Corte determinou novas elei\u00e7\u00f5es em Martins Soares, conforme o artigo 224 do C\u00f3digo Eleitoral. At\u00e9 l\u00e1, o presidente da C\u00e2mara assume interinamente o Executivo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apesar da decis\u00e3o, a aplica\u00e7\u00e3o n\u00e3o ser\u00e1 imediata. A defesa pode recorrer ao pr\u00f3prio TRE-MG e, posteriormente, ao Tribunal Superior Eleitoral (TSE).
