O problema tem afetado a rotina da popula\u00e7\u00e3o da cidade, que tem cerca de 17 mil habitantes. Mesmo com temperaturas que j\u00e1 chegaram a 34\u00b0C, muitos moradores est\u00e3o usando cal\u00e7as, casacos, meias e at\u00e9 luvas para tentar se proteger dos insetos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A regi\u00e3o do Bra\u00e7o do Ba\u00fa \u00e9 uma das mais afetadas. A moradora Jaqueline Fischer conta que, por causa da quantidade de mosquitos, muitas vezes n\u00e3o \u00e9 poss\u00edvel sequer abrir portas e janelas pela manh\u00e3. Segundo ela, as casas permanecem fechadas e ventiladores s\u00e3o usados para afastar os insetos durante as refei\u00e7\u00f5es. Crian\u00e7as tamb\u00e9m t\u00eam dificuldade para brincar ao ar livre. O filho de Jaqueline, por exemplo, \u00e9 al\u00e9rgico \u00e0s picadas e sofre com incha\u00e7o e coceira.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Outros moradores relatam situa\u00e7\u00f5es semelhantes. Tatiana Reichert afirma que a \u00fanica forma de se proteger \u00e9 usando roupas compridas ou aplicar repelentes constantemente. A prefeitura informou que est\u00e1 buscando medidas para enfrentar o problema, mas destacou que ainda n\u00e3o existe um produto espec\u00edfico comprovadamente eficaz para controlar o maruim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Especialistas explicam que apenas as f\u00eameas picam, pois precisam do sangue para produzir ovos.
